From our eggs, eggs, eggs. And the ocean water world is where we need to be. 1) We are baby sea turtles. We've been growing in our eggs That our mother laid in a nest in the warm, dry sand. And now that all of us are hatched it's time to begin To dash together to the sea to have our first swim. (to Chorus) 2) When we scramble to the sea in the middle of the night, We find our way with the help of the moon and starlight. It's our first big adventure since we've left our turtle nest. And we must find a safe place in the sea before we rest. (to Chorus) Bridge: If we are lucky we will grow up in the sea Eating tiny shrimp, sea jellies and seaweed. And maybe one day some of us will find our way back To lay our own eggs on this beach where we were hatched. (to Chorus)

Read the lyrics to our fun and educational WORM POOP SONG

Category: Song Lyrics

Published: Tuesday, October 22, 2013

Dear Friends, I hope that these lyrics will help you read and sing-along to our fun kids' song WORM POOP SONG, from our Parents Choice Approved CD EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED and Other Animal Songs for Kids by Birdsong and the Eco-Wonders. I never realized the importance of worms until I began my research for this song. Worms are master decomposers; They continously eat leaves, grass, dead fruits, vegetables and dirt as they crawl through the earth. They also make underground tunnels as they crawl, and these tunnels make spaces in the ground for air and water to get in. The air and water help the roots of the plants to breathe and take in water. Worms also poop frequently as they eat and crawl, fertilizing the earth as they move. This was a fun kids song to write and record. Children, teachers and parents love to sing along, wiggle like a worm and sing poop. It takes the everyone just a few seconds to realize that it's okay to say poop...and then off they go singing with gusto: POOP! POOP! And how can we not sing it? Worm poop, also known as worm castings, is very important to the health of our plants and ecosystems. As I mentioned in my last blog posting, just about every living thing is dependent on something else in order to survive and grow... Verse 1: I live in the ground. I hardly make a sound. I like to eat dirt as I wiggle through the earth. Making tunnels as I go, I move really slow. But my muscles are strong and they help me get along. I wiggle to the left. I wiggle to the right. I eat and poop all day and night. CHORUS: This is my life as a worm. And you know wherever I squirm, I eat dead things, help them decompose. My poop is fertilizer that helps the plants grow. I dig what I do in my life as a worm. Poop, Poop, Poop Poop, Poop, Poop, Poop, Poop...

Dear Friends, I hope that these lyrics will help you read and sing-along to our fun kids' song Everything Is Connected, the title song on our Parents Choice Approved CD EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED and Other Animal Songs for Kids by Birdsong and the Eco-Wonders. I have wanted to write a song like this since I was a child and began realizing that so many things in life are connected to each other and need each other to survive. For example, the food we eat is connected to the seeds that grew into fruit and vegetable plants. My food is also connected to the farmers who planted those seeds; the sun, rain and soil that the seeds needed in order to grow into plants; and the workers who picked the fruits and vegetables from the plants and delivered them to us. Each of us is also connected to trees because trees make oxygen, and we need oxygen in order to breathe and stay alive. Just about every living thing is dependent on something else in order to survive and grow. This is called interdependence. Nature is often called the web of life because of all the amazing connections and relationships it takes to keep everything working and reproducing. Even things that die give back to life in some way. There are so many examples of interdependence and connections in life. My song Everything Is Connected has three verses and a bridge with examples of these connections, but there could truly be thousands of verses with thousands of examples. Perhaps you will write one of your own verses. If so, I'd love to hear or read it. In the meantime, below are the lyrics to Everything Is Connected by Birdsong and the Eco-Wonders. We hope they will help you you sing along: Birdsong Singer/Songwriter Creator of: Birdsong and the Eco-Wonders Birdsong TV Song Lyrics: EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED by Birdsong and the Eco-Wonders Spoken: Connected, Connected, Everything's Connected (2x) Verse 1: Everything is connected. Grandma calls it the web of life. The moon helps the ocean rise and fall. The sun gives the whole world light. And the sun and the moon help the plants to grow. And the plants are food for young and old. Oh... CHORUS: Everything is connected. It seems that life's just made that way. The sun shines, the rain falls. Helps the trees and the flowers grow. The moon, the sea, the earth and sky. The animals, plants and you and I. We are all connected in this great big web of life. Spoken: Connected, Connected, Everything's Connected (repeat) Verse 2: Everything is connected. The trees, the birds, you and me. Trees make oxygen for us to breathe and seeds for the birds to eat. And the birds fly around, drop seeds on the ground And seeds grow into trees that help us breathe. Oh... to CHORUS BRIDGE: Well the food that I eat is connected to the seeds That were planted by the farmers in the earth beneath our feet. And with the rain and the sun's energy, And an awful lot of help from the pollinating bees, The seeds grow into plants that produce The vegetables and fruit that are now my food. So the farmers and I, The earth and sky, The seeds and the bees And the food we eat are: Spoken: Connected, Connected, Everything's Connected (2x)

Read the lyrics to our fun, educational song PLANT A HABITAT

Category: Song Lyrics

Published: Tuesday, September 3, 2013

Dear Friends, I hope that these written lyrics will help you read and sing-along to our fun kids' song about planting habitats. Learn what inspired me to write this song and why planting habitats is important on my October, 2009 blogpost. There you can also hear my simple version of Plant a Habitat. That was before we recorded it in a professional studio, added lots of fun instruments and harmonies, and put it on our CD EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED and Other Animal Songs for Kids by Birdsong and the Eco-Wonders. Whichever version of PLANT A HABITAT you sing along with, here are the lyrics to help you learn it: Song Lyrics: PLANT A HABITAT by Birdsong and the Eco-Wonders Plant a habitat. Gonna plant a habitat. The butterflies and bees are whispering: Please, Plant a space where we can grow and feed. Plant a habitat. The hummingbirds will be happy for that. With flowers so bright, nectar so sweet, And lots of food our nature friends to eat. All around the world we need some space Where animals and plants can find a place With clean water, food and shelter A home where they raise their young. So I'm learning about the ways you and I Can help all living things to survive. Like planting seeds, flowers and trees, The kind of habitats that we all need. So... Plant a habitat. Gonna plant a habitat. The butterflies and bees are whispering: Please, Plant a space where we can grow and feed. Plant a habitat. The hummingbirds will be happy for that. With flowers so bright, nectar so sweet, And lots of food our nature friends to eat.

SONG LYRICS I ALMOST KISSED A BUTTERFLY by Birdsong and the Eco-Wonders Verse 1: I was walking down a trail one day. Hey, hey, hey Through a meadow by the canyon way. And there were flowers blooming all around. When suddenly to my surprise, Fluttering before my eyes, Was a butterfly so close to me I tried to kiss it. But I missed … CHORUS: It was a near miss, but I almost kissed a butterrfly. It was a near miss, but I almost kissed a butterfly. It flew out of the sky above. And I gave that butterfly some love. It was near miss, but I almost kissed a butterfly. Verse 2: Just three weeks ago, this butterfly- y - y - y Was a caterpillar crawling by . . . so hungry . . . Nibbling on some tasty leaves and growing fast. 'Til it turned into a chrysalis, an amazing metamorphosis, Into this butterfly so beautiful I tried to kiss it. But I missed. CHORUS It was a near miss, but I almost kissed a butterrfly. It was a near miss, but I almost kissed a butterfly. It flew out of the sky above. And I gave that butterfly some love. It was near miss, but I almost kissed a butterfly. BRIDGE: I tried to kiss it… But that butterfly had better things to do. And I watched it really close so I can name a few: Like basking in the sun to get some energy to fly. And fluttering its colors like a rainbow in the sky. Or puddling in the mud to drink some salty water. Then following the scent of its favorite flower. And sipping that flower's nectar so delicious With it's long and slender proboscis. Sip, sip, sip, sip. Then finding a plant that is a perfect match To lay its eggs on so, when they hatch, There will be plenty of food for caterpillars to eat. And they can munch, munch, munch on nutritious leaves. Munch, munch, munch, munch. 'Til every little caterpillar's large enough to To begin to do some pretty fancy stuff. Like . . . Turn into a chrysalis, an amazing metamorphosis, Into a butterfly so beautiful I tried to kiss it; but I missed. CHORUS It was a near miss, but I almost kissed a butterrfly. It was a near miss, but I almost kissed a butterfly. It flew out of the sky above. And I gave that butterfly some love. It was near miss, but I almost kissed a butterfly. I ALMOST KISSED A BUTTERFLY can be heard on our Parents' Choice Approved CD EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED and Other Animal Songs for Kids by Birdsong and the Eco-Wonders.
